It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.
Today has felt like that.
Not sure whether to start with the positives, which are actually really great, or the negatives, which are really crap.
Well, you probably need cheering up, so I won't even mention the negatives! It's safe to say that I'm not the only seriously angry person in England right now though. But you can read about that else where, for this is my blog. All about me. And people I know.
RESULT!!!!
So, my 1st Year results came out today. I got a First. Aww yeah. How cool is that?! Not sure of my exact %age. I'm told that will be up on the UWE intranet tomorrow afternoon. And I will fill you in. Oh yes.
BONUS!!!!
In work (AXA) I work in a department of about 100 others and we have a kinda nomination type thing called 'Stars in Your Eyes' where people in the dept are recognised every month for basically going above and beyond what others expect such as being incredibly helpful or delivering really good work constantly.
Cos I've been pretty good the last few weeks, my line manager decided to put me forward to the dept manager as someone who had been, basically, more than helpful. I knew all about this, and it was the 2nd time I'd been nominated. It's all good cos there's a £10 gift voucher in it for me too!
So we had our dept presentation today where all the teams put a presentation forward of how the month has gone, so one or two people from each team stand in front of the rest of the dept and explain stuff. Pretty relaxed and usually really funny.
Anyway....
At the end of the prez the 'Stars in Your Eyes' list is flashed up on the slide show of all the people who had been nominated that month. However, this month was *slightly* different in that each 1/4 year, all the team managers in the department pick one person who they think has been the best from all the people who had been nominated in those 3 months.
So a long list of about 20 names was on the list. Some people even had 2 nominations! And there was me, near the bottom, proud of my £10 voucher, and the fact my manager had nominated me.
Seriously not expecting anything else, I went a bit red when my name appeared on the next slide in HUGE writting, with "Q2 Stars in Your Eyes Winner" title. Man, that was a good surprise!
The bonus part is something that took me about a minute to notice and it was the writting '£50 voucher winner' written on the slide. So I got like £60 worths of vouchers in 1 week. So cool!
All this and I was only working 10 hours a week for 2 of those 3 months :D
The only problem is that all my team are now asking for chocolates and cakes.... so I've got to use about £10 of my vouchers on Sainsbury's ones! lol

Awesome result - congratulations. Really pleased for you. Don't like chocolate cake - so at least there's more for the others.
Well done!
