The World according to Nami

We were sat on the stage chatting. Suddenly, high pitched scream.

Nami: AAAAAAAAhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Tom looks around his feet to see if there's a huge spider that he's missed.

Nami: AaaahhhHHH!! Look at your trainers!!

Tom: Oohh! *pause* ... Nami. You scared the crap outta me.

Mission Accomplished

Today me and Tim went down town.

Tim went looking for guitar pedals and a job.

And I completed one of my goals...

Sexy :D

The World according to Lozza

Well, you already know how bad Loz is with time, so this blog should come as no surprise to you.

Loz: Yeah. I had my worst hour between 3 and 3:30.

10 Things I Miss About...

Primary School:

1. PE - especially when we got to go to the field! (Woah)

2. End of year plays. I was an aspiring actor, don't ya know ;) Actually, our end of school play was one of the most fun things I have ever done. It was brilliant.

3. Play times... one at 11:00 and one at 12:30... (or something)

4. Fun time - basically, at my school, we were allocated one hour of 'fun time' every single week, where we could bring in whatever games we wanted and play those for an hour. However, if you were naughty before hand, you would loose time in 5 minutes slots and would have to sit down and do nothing for that time while the other kids played.
The best game anyone brought in was a lazer shooting game (aka lazer quest!) but it was only 2 player. We got to run around the school building shooting at each other. Amazing!

5. Starting at 9:00 and finishing at 3:30 everyday.

6. When my parents let me walk to and from primary school with friends... and we used to play knock out ginger!

7. Football at break times. It was actually serious games of footy. If you scored, you went mental. The best was when you had playground wide games, or Year 5's vs Year 6's cos it meant even more if you scored.

8. Artistic freedom - me and one of my mates were like really good artists back then (it's vanished for me now) and so whenever the teachers needed backdrops done for plays, they'd ask us two to draw and paint them. Great stuff, mainly because everyone else was stuck in class doing maths or something while we were having a laugh.

9. How simple learning was - education gets so much more complex as you get older, and you need a lot more time to focus on it. I want 2+2's again.

10. School trips. They rocked.

Bad Boy Racers

So I'm coming up to the ring road traffic lights, and this Peugeot 106 (chaveh!) is a bit impatient for some reason, so he overtakes me in the wrong lane and then cuts me up.

But... Ah ha!

His exhaust falls off!!!

The World according to Timmeh

I worry about him sometimes...
While at Rita's for lunch:

*Jamie walks into the room with some dessert*

Timmeh: Hey. Is that for me, my love?

And just after we received our cards for Mafia.

Tom: What are you Tim?

Timmeh: I can be whatever you want me to be...

My Day... In a Poem

How cool is this,
That I decide to blog,
In poem form,
There was dead hedgehog,

Just on my road,
On the way to a game,
It was a nasty sight,
It's got itself to blame.

And what about,
Me waking up at 9,
Cos Nig had rang me,
To check I was fine,

To play footy,
Cos the team was short,
But I ignored my mobile
Cos I wasn't sure,

What my feet were like,
It had been so long,
Since I'd ran around,
For 90 minutes long,

So after I blanked,
My mobile phone,
The skankity skank
He rang my home!!

So I couldn't say no,
He was desperate for me,
So he said '20 minutes',
I replied 'We'll see'.

And sure enough,
40 minutes had past,
And up drove Nig,
With who else but Gaz?

So we drove and drove,
And we even got lost,
We were following Martin,
It seems to our cost.

But we got to the game,
And we played with no win.
But hey we had fun,
And that's a good feeling.

So after the match,
I just bummed and chilled.
With prayers that Arsenal,
Would get utterly killed,

By Tottenham,
In the fight for 4th place,
Cos I'm a MU fan,
Out of the title race.

But if Arsenal,
Don't finish in 4th,
No champs league for them,
Haha. Not half.

And I've been cussed by Aiken's
So I prayed again,
That Liverpool would lose,
And Chelsea would win.

Yet my prayers they seemed,
To fall on deaf ears,
As Chelsea lost,
Liverpool fans cheered.

But afterwards,
I looked at my notes,
Genetics this week,
But it seems like a joke,

All of the stuff,
That we have to learn.
I need a blow torch,
So that I can burn,

All this info,
Right into my brain,
So I can pass,
This solid exam.

But that's it for me,
It's twenty three: two three,
So I bid thee goodnight,
Best wishes, from me.

Thank you for reading :)

10 Things I Miss About...

UGANDA

I just read Lis blog and thought I steal her idea.

I am.
Officially.
A Thief.

1) The weather.

2) Sunset during a boat trip on a lake near Luwangpanga. Absolutely stunning.

3) Tucking in my mozzie net.

4) The people.

5) That the most important thing to do in a day was just to talk.

6) Going to the highest point in Kampala at night and being able to see the entire city lit up, only to see half of it plunge into total darkness because of a powercut.

7) Seeing lizards on the walls the first night. It really hit it home that I wasn't in England anymore.

8) The stars - I kid you not. These were... I think the word 'glorious' sums it up.

9) "Ahhhh bzungu!!!"

10) Silent Lightning Storms - you don't believe it until you see one, but once you see one, you realise that you don't really know anything about this world we live on. Was literally jaw dropping.

"You have one cheekiness chance remaining..."

So... worship was funny yesterday.

We should have it on Wednesday's more often. People seemed a lot more relaxed. :)

Jen made me laugh. Graham made me laugh. Reg made me laugh. Jill made me laugh. Sam and Nami made me laugh, Jo made me laugh... the list goes on.

Although I did think a certain aspect of Sunday night was being 'milked' a bit too much.

Thanks to all those people who were honest though. Muchly appreciated.

To be perfectly honest though, if we're crap, you have to say now, otherwise we're just gonna carry on. Well, we'll probably just carrying on anyway. I think it's called perseverance...

Or is it pride...

... or stupidity...

Erm, anyway. I just realised that you're only going to understand this post if you know me or were there on Sunday night.

Back to revision!!

Tuesday, April 18, 2006

Time for a blog I think

It's been a while.

I've just been trying to get over the shame of Sunday night. If you were there, you know.

If you weren't there, praise God!

I've just got back from practise actually, which made it feel a lot better. We tuned up and everything!
We've got our first proper gig on Friday, May 19th (spread the word!) so we were practising for that. We should have at least 5 new songs, along with the usual lot. Maybe throw in a few covers. Should be fun.

I've also got exams in oh... 4 1/2 weeks. Hmm. Aiken's told me to revise. Dale from work told me to revise. My brain was telling me to revise. So that's what I'm doing.... just not at the moment.

Usually, it's my mum who telling me to do stuff. How times have changed. I'm all growned up :)

The World According to Mo

Mo is someone I go to Uni with. Myself, him and about 15 others were out on Thursday night. Mo pulled.

Mo: I've got this girls number. She has a really sexy name too... Mary.

Me: Oh yeah. Let's have a look.

*browses Mo's phone for Mary's number. Finds it and it reads 'Marry'*

Me: Mo. You know you wrote Marry? Getting a bit ahead of yourself there aren't we? *wink*

Mo: Crap. Give it here.

*fiddles with name*

Mo: There...

Me: *looks, assuming he's got it right this time. Laughs loudly*

'Merry?!'

Lyrics

At worship on Monday someone read out one of the songs (You Chose the Cross) and it worked brilliantly as poem.

So I thought I'd post some lyrics:

You feel so blind when walking.
Not sure of the ground that you tread.
And sometimes your faith is shaken.
But the road is planned ahead.
.............................
Plans of hope, and plans of peace.
So lets fall down upon our knees.
Within His hands my life is held.
..............................
He makes the darkest day fill with sun.
And He makes us stand, when we want to run.
You make me strong.
Caving in the world is on every side.
But I don't care, I want to live, while I'm alive.
While I'm alive. Come and live in me.

The World According to Tim

Tim's a great guy.

Who has just gone to Australia for a while. He doesn't want to look like Ralph Harris. But there's not much chance of that really!

This is Ralph Harris, Tim. lol.

Relax!

"Don't do it, when you want to go to it."

I have just finished my final piece of coursework for this year.

And have managed to put a song in your heads at the same time.

On a side note, I've just read the entire set of lyrics to that song.
Hmm... :/

The World According to Me

Chatting with Maria in the car about homegroup...

Me: So have you already done the planning for your teaching?

Maria: Yes.

Me: So what's it on. Just Chapter 2?

Maria: No. It's on 2, 3 and 4.

Me: Wow. How long are you going to be teaching us for?!

Maria: It shouldn't be too long. I'm just picking out the general points rather than going through it per verse like Tor did.

Me: Oh. I like it per verse. You should do it per verse...

*thinks* 'perverse'

Me: No... wait....!
