Hall Way Etiquette
You know the feeling.
You're in work/uni/school.
You're walking down a hallway.
You see someone walking towards you.
And they are going to walk past you.
What do you do?

- The 'Nod and Smile' - Requires no vocals. Works in situations where you don't know the person but still want to be polite but also in situations where you do know the person and want to be polite. The key here is to not overdo the smile. A simple teethless grin will usually suffice.
- The 'Look At Your Phone' - Don't want to make eye contact but don't want to blatantly appear to ignore the person? Requires fast reactions but also a certain degree of acting ability. Maybe you want to shudder slightly before diving into your pocket so it 'appears' you've been buzzed. Guess what? People will rarely believe this technique but will generally respect you for trying something other than the Ignoral (see below)
- The 'Friendly Chat' - maximizes vocals. Works best when you a) Know the person and b) Are genuinely interested in them. Point b) can be scrapped slightly when you don't like the person but want to make an effort. However, point a) is pretty much essential unless you are full of courage or you find them attractive.
- The 'Ignoral' - "Oh no. Why does this person have to be walking towards me again!? What am I going to do?" The essential thing to do when ignoring someone is to avoid eye contact at all costs. If eye contact is made, you'll both feel awkward if you don't have a back up plan. Suggested areas of vision are down at your shoes (generally preferred) or at a wall. Unfortunately a lot of people choose this option as opposed to the Nod and Smile. The problem with the Ignoral is if one person tries to make eye contact (perhaps even performing the Nod and Smile or Friendly Chat) the other person may be so busy trying to ignore them, that they forget to respond. This is known as "Hall Way Etiquette Suicide" and must avoided at all costs as any future hopes of performing the "Friendly Chat" with the other person will probably be shot down.

You knew what I ment it looked right to me, being dyslexic and all.
When you sound it out though it really does sound like a 'G' instead of a 'C'. I really must start using word to write up comments to save my self from this kind of embarrassment!
